Obituary

Lyndel R. “Lee” Cabbage 87, of Norfolk, died peacefully, with his family at his side, Sunday Feb. 10, 2019 at the Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge, following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Claire A. (Gaudreau) Cabbage, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.

Born August 2, 1931 in Livermore, Kentucky a son of the late Elmer S. and Etha S. (Jones) Cabbage, he was a longtime resident of Norfolk.

He was raised and educated in Kentucky, and until his retirement several years ago, was the owner and operator of Lynco Home Improvement.

A proud American he served in the United States Marine Corps., during the Korean War. He attained the rank of PVT, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Lee was honorably discharged in Oct. 1953.

He enjoyed playing pool, hunting, traveling to the South, spending time with his family and tinkering around his home.

Lee was a longtime member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael R. Cabbage and his wife Catherine of Blackstone, stepchildren, Donald J. Weidman, Michael F. Weidman, Pamela J. Weidman-Crosby, a brother Glen Cabbage of Avon, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

He was the father of the late Donna L. Aubin, stepfather of the late Kenneth S. Weidman and brother of the late Joyce Herston and Joan Carlson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Thursday Feb. 14th, at 10AM in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St.

Interment with military honors will follow at Norfolk, Cemetery.

Calling hours are Wednesday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
