Francis E.V. Hudson, age 86, of Medford formerly of Charlestown, Passed away December 26th, following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth M. (Flanagan). Born in Boston he was the son of the late Sadie E. (Lowry) and Frank H. Hudson.
Mr. Hudson was raised in Charlestown and was a graduate of Boston English High School and enjoyed annual reunions with the Old Schoolboys Club of Charlestown. He was a retired postal worker and was with the U.S. Postal Service for more than thirty years. He was U. S. Navy Veteran of WWII honorably serving his country from 1942 to 1945 and was a member of Medford VFW Post 1012. Mr. Hudson was very devoted to his family and enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed reading, self educating himself and was quite the history buff.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hudson is predeceased by his daughter-in-law Noreen Hudson and his brother, Donald Hudson. He is survived by his sons; Francis E. Jr. of Chelmsford, Donald of CA, Robert and his wife Nancy of Winchester, David M. and his wife Joyce of Medford, Mark of Wakefield, Richard J. and his wife Patricia of TN. He is also survived by eleven loving grandchildren and five loving great grandchildren.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Frank's memory to the charity of your choice.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Friday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church 512 High St, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
