Peggy King Shivers, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home, Tuesday, February 5, 2019.
She was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary Alice King and was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Horn and her brothers, John Wallace King, William King, Jack King, Tom King and Delma King.
Peggy was a devoted wife and loving mother. After graduating from Rebecca High School she attended Berry College. She joined the Turner County Board of Education in 1974 and spent 32 years teaching scores of children and became affectionately known to them as Ms. Peggy.
Survivors include her husband Leon Roger Shivers of Ashburn, her daughters, Sonjia (Tweety) Barker of Ashburn and Samantha Shivers of Rebecca. She is also survived by her sisters, Nan Snow King of Mineral Bluff, GA and Mary Elizabeth Wilson of Woodstock, GA; her brothers, J. C. King of Chula and Robert H. King of Mineral Bluff, GA.
Graveside services will be held for Ms. Peggy, at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 9 in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rebecca.
