Obituary

James Edward "Jim" "Turtle" Talkington, 76, of Anderson died February 3, 2019 after an extended illness.
Jim was born December 16, 1942, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the son of Claire Talkington and Laura M. (Howell) Boyer. He graduated from Anderson High School where he played the trumpet in the marching band.
He was an EMT for Anderson Fire Department, worked other various jobs including, owner of Caravan Ambulance, he was district manager for the Herald-Bulletin newspaper, car salesman for Weidner and Ed Martin and was a manager of Anderson City Utilities. He was an avid bowler. Jim loved boating and old time western movies.
Jim is survived by his son, Greg Talkington of Chesterfield; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Leslie, Zane, Alexia, Tyler, Chloe and Emberlee; five great-grandchildren, Emma, Ava, Lilyann, Lex and Leo.
He was preceded in death his parents; two sons, Jeffery and Michael Talkington and brother, Dennis Talkington.
Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to offset funeral expenses.
