Peabody: Leo N. Levesque age 73 of Peabody and formerly of Salem, died unexpectedly Sunday morning at his home. He was the husband of Alida J. (Rouillard) Levesque with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Francois and Roseanna (Morneau) Levesque. Prior to his military service he worked for the former Vulcan Electric Co. of Danvers. A veteran of the Korean Conflict he served in Korea with the Army. He returned to Salem and continued with the Vulcan Company through the 1960’s. In the late 60’s he began working as grounds and buildings superintendent for St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers until 1983. Mr. Levesque was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish of Salem and moved to Peabody from Salem 18 years ago.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 sons: Raymond Levesque of Peabody, Philippe L. and his fiancée Kathy Stewart of Lebanon, ME, Michael G. and his wife Cheryl of Danvers, Marc. S. and his wife Ann of Beverly, 2 daughters: Carolyn L. and her husband James Burkinshaw of Beverly, Janet R. and her husband Craig Brown of Brooksville, FL, 3 brothers: Roland and his wife Lorraine of Beverly, George and his wife Jeanne of Beverly, Donald and his wife Theresa Levesque of Niceville, FL, a sister Margaret Ellis and her husband James of Danvers, 11 grandchildren: Monique, Nicholas & Janelle Levesque, Aimee, Megan Levesque, Zachary, Joshua, Ryan Levesque, Matthew & Daniel Levesque and Justin Burkinshaw., also several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Friday at 8:30 from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., Salem [Rt. 114 / 1-A] followed by his funeral mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, on the Salem / Peabody line at 10 am.
