Obituary

John E. "Jack" Collins Jr., a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the North End Rehabilitation and Health Center. He was 76 years of age.

Jack was born in Boston on December 22, 1942, a son of the late John E. Collins and Mildred R. (Cotter) Collins. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Cambridge in 1961. Jack worked as a warehouseman for Western Electric until his retirement. He then was a board member for the Telephone Workers Credit Union and later a toll collector at the Mass. Pike.

Jack is the beloved father of James Collins and his wife Jodi of North Reading, and Jason Collins and his wife Julie of New York. He is the loving Grampy of Ava, Jack, Benjamin, John, and Caitlin. He is the beloved brother of Maureen Bambery, and the late James Collins and Patricia Mahoney. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jack's Funeral on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be Private. His visiting hours will be on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
