Obituary

Kent W. Longnecker, 91, of Manchester, NH died December 24, 2005 at CRVNA Hospice House in Concord, NH after a long illness.

Born in Delta, OH on May 8, 1914, he was the son of Edgar and Lena (Wilson) Longnecker. He graduated from Cornell University in 1937. He had lived in Manchester since 2003.

During World War II he served in the US Navy. He began his military service in Hawaii on December 7, 1941 and was present during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Mr. Longnecker worked as a hospital administrator for many years in Honolulu, HI and Lake Placid and Rome, NY. He was a fellow with the American College of Hospital Administrators and had been a member of the Rotary clubs in Hawaii and New York.

The family includes his wife of 57 years, Margaret “Peg” (Harshman) Longnecker of Manchester, NH; three children, Nancy Longnecker of Hooksett, NH, Blaine Longnecker of Chittenango, NY and Gay Longnecker of Hooksett, NH; two grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Giles of Honolulu, HI and Catherine Seligman of St. Petersburg, FL and three nephews.

A memorial service took place at a later date. Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, NH assisted the family with arrangements.
