Renee (PraLevis) Holt, of Mason’s Island Road, Mystic, passed early Christmas morning at Mystic Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident for the past two years. She was 88.
Mrs. Holt was born in Stafford Springs on February 3, 1917 a daughter to Angelo and Antoinette (Fain) PraLevis. She was married to Thomas William Holt in Mystic on December 14, 1935. They enjoyed over 66 years of marriage before his death on September 9, 2002.
A resident of Mystic for many years, she worked as a bookkeeper, working with her husband and son in the operation of the family business, Broadway Sunoco Gas Station for over 39 years prior to her retirement in 1989.
Mrs. Holt is survived by her son, Brian T. Holt of Old Mystic; a granddaughter, Heidi Kerfus and her husband Cris, 2 great-grandchildren, Gavin and Sarina Kerfus, and a niece, Bonnie Marshall and her husband Doug, all of Mystic. She was predeceased by her sister, Louise M. Ledwith who died in 1982.
Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 5-7pm. A Funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11am with the Rev. Dr. G. Kenneth Carpenter and Rev. Lisabeth M. Gustafson, officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic.
