Obituary

Lorraine Marie (Perry) Cribben, age 96, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully January 31, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Lorraine was the wife of the late Leo J. Cribben.

Lorraine was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late William Perry and Emma (Pelland-Perry) Mueller. She was a 1939 graduate of Brockton High School and Cambridge City Hospital School of Nursing.

For many years Lorraine was an operating room nurse at the Brockton Hospital. Later in her career she was a pediatric nurse for Dr. Theodore Greenfield and Dr. Theodore Critz and retired when she turned 65.

She was an active member of the YMCA where she enjoyed swimming. She was also a member of the PM Club and the Mother’s Club. Lorraine loved to shop, play cards, Sudoko and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. She was accomplished at knitting, crocheting, and embroidery and enjoyed winters in Florida

Lorraine was the loving mother to her son Michael Cribben and his wife Ellen Wedner. She is survived by her brother William Perry of Hyannis. She was the sister of the late Phyllis Simpson, Donald Perry and Herbert Perry. She is also survived by her nieces Lorraine Mercurio of Brockton and Suzanne Tower of Easton and several great nieces and great-great nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Sunday February 3 from 2-5pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Monday at 9am for a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She will be buried in the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne.
