Fernande H. (Ratte) Sirois, 101, of Methuen, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully
on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Methuen Village. She was a lifelong resident of
Methuen. Fern was born February 8th, 1917. She was the eldest of 11 siblings. She was educated
in the Methuen school system and was retired from the Internal Revenue Service, where she worked for many years. In addition to her parents, Arthur and Rose (Comeau) Ratte, Fern was predeceased by her husband Leo Sirois, brothers Armand and Roger, and sister Jeanette. Fern will besadly missed by her two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Faye Sirois of Overland Park, KS., and Robert and Denise Sirois of Methuen; five grandchildren, Keri Kucharski and her husband Daniel, Chad Sirois and his fiancé Georgia Exarchos, Erin St. Jean and her husband Matthew, all of Methuen, Jeffrey Sirois and his wife Staci of Redman, WA., Justin Sirois and his wife Regina of Olathe, KS; Nine great-grandchildren Harrison, Samuel, Melina, Effie, Stella,
Vivienne, Imogen, Audree, and Juliette; two brothers Richard and Arthur Jr.; sisters Evelyn, Lucille, Helen, Lillian, and Claire; several nieces ,nephews, and cousins. Fern was devoted to her family. Her favorite times were spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed knitting blankets and clothing for her family, friends, and those in need. Fern was a caring and loving woman. She will be missed by all that knew her.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Methuen Village and Great Lakes Caring for their exceptional care, love, and compassion during her time as a resident. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, February 4th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd., Dracut. A funeral service will be held at Racicot Funeral Home on Monday February 4th at 10:30 am, burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover.
