Obituary

Carmen A. Ruggiero, passed away unexpectedly at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, on December 24, the husband of Ann Ruggiero, he was eighty years old.

Born and raised in East Boston he was the son of the late Barbara (Marino) and Gennaro Ruggiero. Charlie as he was affectionately known settled in Somerville some fifty-one years ago following his discharge from the US Navy. He was a communicant at St. Polycarp Church, in Somerville and active in the St. Polycarp Mens Club and Bowling League. For over 22 years he was a mail carrier in the Newtonville section on Newton.

He was a member of the Logan Post of Somerville, a avid Boston Sport fan following the Red Sox, Bruins Celtics and the Patriots.

Along with his wife he is survived by his two daughters, Joanne Contaldi and Michelle Ruggiero both of Saugus. Two loving grandchildren Gia and Gerald Contaldi. One Brother Anthony Ruggiero of Tewksbury, three sisters, Janet Ort of Revere, Florence Picariello of East Boston, and Roslaie Holt of Revere.

His funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, on Thursday Decemberr 29, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St. Somerville - Medford at 10. Services will conclude with military honors at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
