Obituary


Mary Lou (Alexander) Curran, 61, passed away on January 25, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones, after a long illness.

She was the beloved wife to John Curran of Canton. John and Mary Lou were a loving couple for over 28 years and happily married for 22 years. Mary Lou was born on September 23, 1957, and a long resident of Canton. She worked at Quincy High School as a Food Server for over 5 years, among many other jobs throughout her life. She loved hiking and driving her convertible thru Blue Hills. Mary Lou was a talented cook and loved hosting get togethers, especially with family and close friends. Mary Lou was a true “Die Hard” Patriots fan. She’ll always be remembered for being a tenacious, authentic and courageous individual, who was always the life of the party.

Mary Lou was the beloved mother to Erica Messina, Taylor Alexander and Johnny Curran. Mary Lou was a loving sister to Lisa Krance and her husband, John Krance, Francis Alexander and Ann Marie Alexander. She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren Christopher Messina, Alyse Tannetta, Maddison Vo and Liam Tam Vo. Mary Lou will be incredibly missed by her extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Casper’s Funeral Home in South Boston from 10am to 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
