Alphonse W. Bousquet, age 87, passed away on Jan. 25, 2019
at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born
on April 11, 1931 in Barton, VT and had lived in Bellows Falls, VT
from 1937-1955 before he moved to Chicopee. Alphonse was a son of the
late Albert Joseph and Marie Louise (Nadeau) Bousquet. He worked for
Kaman Areospace Company as a sheet metal fabricator for many years
before he retired in 2001. He was a graduate of Bellows Falls High
School, Class of 1951; He became a member of the Vermont National
Guard and in 1951 he Joined the United States Marines where he became
a Korean War Veteran. He was a communicant of Holy Name of Jesus
Parish in Assumption Church. Alphonse was a Baseball, Basketball and
Football Coach and member of the Board of Directors of the Chicopee
38er’s Organization. Al served his family, faith, and country with
dignity and selflessness. He is survived by his loving wife of 64
years, Joan (Plummer) Bousquet of Chicopee; 3 sons, Michael Bousquet
and his wife Mary of Feeding Hills, Daniel Bousquet and his wife Lisa
of Feeding Hills and William Bousquet and his wife Kelly of Chicopee;
2 daughters, Marie Garrow of Chicopee and Lori Rislove and her husband
Bill of MN; 1 sister Jane Westfall of Bellows Falls, VT; 10
grandchildren; 1 great grandson and a great granddaughter on the way.
He is predeceased by his brother Rosaire and his sister Gertrude
French. Calling hours will be held on the Morning of the funeral,
Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 from 9:30-11:30 AM in the Grise Funeral Home, 280
Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Home Prayer Service will take
place at 11:30 followed by burial in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery
in Agawam. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital
for Children, 516 Carew St, Springfield, MA 01104 or to the Mount
Saint Vincent Nursing Home, 35 Holy Family Rd, Holyoke, MA 01040.
