Obituary

James F. Oliver, 84, of Foxboro since 2002 and formerly of Medway, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Walpole Healthcare. He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Kane) Oliver since 1973.

Born in Milford on July 28, 1934, he was the son of the late Harold P. Oliver, Sr. and Elizabeth (Daily) Oliver.

Mr. Oliver was a 1952 graduate of Medway High School and attended Bentley University.

Before his retirement, he worked for the city of Boston for ten years, Thompson Transit in Framingham for ten years and served on the Medway Fire Department for 17 years.

He was the former chairman of the Medway Democratic Town Committee, a former member of the Foxboro Democratic Town Committee and served on two committees for the MBTA.

Mr. Oliver was an avid Boston sports fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by six children, Bruce Ozella of West Roxbury, Cheryl Wallace and Holly Tremblay, both of Mendon, Laura Hamel of Uxbridge, Charlene DeVincent of Woonsocket, RI and Christopher Oliver of Franklin and was predeceased by his son Larry Oliver.

He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was the brother of the late Harold P. Oliver, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, February 4 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).

Burial will take place privately at request of his family at Oakland Cemetery in Medway.
