Obituary

John F. Collier, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Friday, January 25, 2019. He was 54 years of age.

John was born in Somerville on October 14, 1964, a son of Robert H. Collier and Evelyn M. (O'Donnell) Collier. He grew up in Charlestown and was educated at St. Benedict's Parochial School in Somerville, attended Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury and graduated from Arlington Catholic High School in Arlington in 1982. John was a Physical Trainer for many gyms in the Boston area up until his sudden death . John was always conscientious of his health and well being and took great pride in his appearance and physique. John's greatest pride in his life was his family, especially his wife, children, grandchildren, parents and siblings, he was always looking out for the other family member and was there for anyone in time of need. He was an avid Boston sports fan and followed the Patriots religiously. He was a coach of the Charlestown Youth Football program and a member of Bunker Hill Council # 62, Knights of Columbus.

John is the adored husband of 3 years to Lauren A. (Hickey) Collier. He is the devoted father of John F. Collier II and Nicole Collier. He is the proud Papa to Caiden John Collier, Camryn Jayde Collier, Ceagan James Collier and Brielle Chery. He is the loving son of Robert H. Collier and Evelyn M. (O'Donnell) Collier. He is the beloved brother of Lyn Parziale, Robert H. Collier Jr. and his wife Karen, Joseph Collier, Michael Collier and his wife Julie, Mary Collier and Kenny Reyno, Ann Collier, David Collier and the late Boston Police Lieutenant George M. Collier and his surviving wife Maureen. He is the beloved son-in-law of Judy Reilly. He is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's Funeral on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. His visiting hours will be on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
