Obituary

Cecelia C. (Casby) Barry, 87, of Marion died June 24, 2002 at Tobey Hospital after a brief illness.

She was the wife of the late Francis G. Barry, and daughter of the late James and Cecelia (Logan) Casby.

Mrs. Barry was born in Dorchester and had lived in Brighton for many years before retiring to Marion in 1971.

She was a communicant of St. Rita's Church in Marion.

Mrs. Barry was the former president of Sippican Senior Citizens and had been a volunteer for 10 years at Sippican Healthcare Center. She was active for many years with the Alofa Malia, which supported the Marist Nuns.

Survivors include a son, Garrett J. Barry and his wife Ann Marie, of Belmont; a daughter, Eileen B. Banta and her husband Robert, of Woodland Hills, CA; 2 sisters, Mary Spring of Dunellen, FL, and Alice Casby of Metarie, LA; a sister-in-law, Ellen M. Barry of Brighton; a son-in-law, Paul Myslicki of North Fort Myers, FL; 4 grandchildren, Dr. Renee Banta Hook and Michelle Banta Neuhaus, both of California, Sean M. Barry and Elizabeth "Beth" Barry, both of Belmont; and 2 great-grandchildren, Jessica Anne Neuhaus and Christian James Neuhaus. She was a good friend of Ray Kenyon of Marion.

She was the mother of the late Geraldine "Geri" Myslicki, Lorraine Barry and Jean Marie Barry, and sister of the late James Casby, Jr., Wiliam Casby and John Casby.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett, Monday July 1, 2002 at 9 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Rita's Church, Marion, at 10 AM.Relatives and friends invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday June 30, 2002 from 2-6 PM. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the ALS Association Mass. Chapter, 7 Lincoln St. #213, Wakefield, MA 01880.
