Rose Elaine Frawley, known to One and All as "Buzz", of Wellesley, Massachusetts and Kennebunkport, Maine, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, January 24, 2019 completing as full a life as any of us could imagine or hope for.

Buzz was born on Sunday, August 17, 1924 to Rose (Brennan) Ulrich of Benedicta, Maine and Francis Ulrich of Chelsea, Massachusetts. The family lived in Medford, Massachusetts and was completed on Friday, July 5, 1929 when her beloved sister, Jeanne, who survives her, was born.

After high school Buzz graduated from Regis College of Weston, MA in 1946.

She excelled at several jobs including, telephone operator, WWII riveter (yes, she was Rosie the Riveter) and High School English teacher. She fell in love and married her life-long partner, William Joseph Frawley, Jr. of West Roxbury on August 23, 1947.

This is where the extraordinary adventure truly began in Milton, Massachusetts and "Twin Meadows" in Needham, Massachusetts. With Buzz at his side, Bill Frawley established Decelle, a cherished chain of clothing stores. Buzz was the support system and Mission Control. They built a family that extended well beyond their children and embraced the love and strength that only this devotion could achieve. This family includes her children, all of whom still live in Massachusetts:

William Joseph Frawley, III and his wife, Jeanne (Singleton) Frawley of Falmouth, Gerard B. Frawley and his wife, Kathie (Eisner) Frawley of Newton, Richard F. Frawley of Winthrop, David M. Frawley and his wife, Wendy (Coggeshall) Frawley of Needham, Susanne M. (Frawley) Petros and her husband, Dr. James Petros of Wellesley, and James A. Frawley and his wife, Melissa Hatch of Walpole.

Buzz's cherished grandchildren are: Jennifer (Frawley) Follett and her husband, Chuck, William Joseph Frawley and his wife, Kerri, Christopher Frawley and his wife, Kathryn, Kimberly A. Frawley-Haney, whom we hold and embrace in Loving Memory, Laura Frawley, and her husband, Brian Knowles, Matthew Frawley and his wife, Sara Frawley, Kelly (Frawley) Ferenc and her husband, Lloyd, Pamela (Frawley) Safe and her husband, Zach Safe, Timothy Sullivan and his wife, Katie, Susanne Frawley Sullivan, Seamus Frawley, Caroline Frawley.

Buzz's sister, Jeanne (Ulrich) Scannell from Plymouth and now resides in Lexington, Massachusetts and her family shared their lives alongside ours: Jeanne 's late husband, Robert F. Scannell (Uncle Bob) and their children, her beloved nieces and nephew:
Mary Theresa Scannell of Lexington, MA., Robert F. Scannell, Jr. and his wife, Lynne of Nashua, NH., Mary Rose (Scannell) Blake and her husband, Joseph of Medford, MA.,

"Her incredible legacy is also extended to 13 Great Grand Children, one Great Niece, two Great Nephews, two great-great nephews and one great-great niece (so far)!"

We, her children, cannot possibly list all of our dear friends who were embraced by Buzz as her extended family. We invite everyone to come, share your stories, and celebrate this extraordinary life that has touched and enhanced us all. Of course, none of us could schedule this Grand Finale. If it is not feasible for you to personally attend this Celebratory Farewell, please leave a fond tale or remembrance here: For directions and guestbook gfdoherty.com.

The Legacy of a Whisper

His life was only a whisper
The soft breath of a butterfly's wings
His selflessness a soothing shower
On parched souls longing for spring
How long is the life of a whisper
A mere moment its sound to the ear
Yet a whisper's soft scream is forever
Enlightening all those who hear

It lives in the hearts of it's listeners
In Eternity 'tis fragile no more
Now alive in the arms of its Maker
Still whispering love as before

Gently, so gently, I grasp it
It's message forever entwined
With memories of all those whispers
To me, who was left behind.
