FAIRHAVEN – George R. Sylvia, 87, of Horseneck Road, Westport died Saturday, December 24, 2005 at Our Lady’s Haven after a long illness. He is the husband of Claire N. (Junier) Sylvia for 55 years.
He was born in Dartmouth, son of the late Manuel and Rita (Brown) Sylvia, and had resided in Westport for the past 39 years. A United States Army veteran of WWII, he was a union representative for a local company prior to his retirement and also worked under the C.C.C. He was an avid bowler and a member of the former Dartmouth Horsemans Association.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
