Mr. Patrick F. Carr, age 84, long time Medford resident and retired Medford Police Officer for 38 years, passed away on Wednesday Morning, January 23, 2019 at the Peregrine Senior Assisted Living Center in Tewksbury.
He served in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955 on the USS Strong. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley R. (Corkum) Carr and the loving father of Michael and his wife Linda Carr of Newburyport, Thomas and his wife Helene Carr of Litchfield, New Hampshire and Patricia and her husband Stephen DeFrancesco of Tewksbury. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Jennifer Callison, Bethany Moore, Michael Carr, Erin Rose, Caitlin, Amy, Stephen and Rebecca DeFrancesco and seven great-grandchildren; Olivia, Ben, Sasha, Travis, Ricky, Emerson and Tommy. He was the brother of Ann MacNeil of Wayne, Pennsylvania, William Carr of Somerville, Mary Purvis of Hull, Delia Cochran of Montclair, California, James Carr of Revere, Catherine Carr of Windham, New Hampshire and the late Daniel Carr.
His funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Monday, January 28, 2019, at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 514 High Street, Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
