Obituary



SCARBOROUGH- Allyn L. Lord, age 88, passed away at his home on Jan. 16, 2019.
He was born in Waterville on April 21, 1930, a son of the late Gordon and Annie (Reynolds) Lord and graduated from Scarborough High School.
He proudly served in the US Navy from 1948 – 1953 during the Korean War and served upon the submarine USS Grouper – HK217.
Allyn was employed at SD Warren for many years.
He was a member throughout his life of the Gideons International, a lifetime member of the NRA, and was involved with the American Legion and the AMVETS.
Allyn was predeceased by his wife Betty in 2018 and a brother- Walter Lord.
He is survived by his sons- Dan Lord of Scarborough, Cliff Lord of Scarborough; and James Lord of North Port, FL; brother- Gordon Lord Jr. of Standish; sister- Patricia Welch of State College, PA; fifteen grandchildren; and eighteen grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan 26 at 1 PM at the Scarborough Free Baptist Church, 55 Mussey Road in Scarborough. Burial will be in the spring at Steep Falls Cemetery.
