BUXTON/PORTLAND- Wayne A. Berry, age 78, formerly of Simpson Road, Buxton, passed away at his home in Portland on Jan. 20, 2019.
He was born in Biddeford on March 1, 1940, the child of the late Perley and Rita (Curran) Berry.
He grew up in Saco and was a 1958 graduate of Thornton Academy. He later graduated from Husson College.
Most recently, Wayne worked as an elder caregiver.
He enjoyed reading, listening to classical music, and caring for those in need.
Wayne was a longtime member of the United Baptist Church in Saco.
He is survived by his former wife- Sue Berry of Portland; cousins- Albert and Jo-Ann Eunson of Alfred, Alegra E. Soorus of MI, Beverly Berry of Saco, Joyce Berry of Saco and Roger Berry of Saco; and many dear friends including his best friend- Danny Conley of Buxton.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at South Buxton Cemetery. Rev. Beverly Lowell will officiate.
