Obituary

FALMOUTH… William R. Tessier, Jr., 90, of Cotuit passed away at JML Care Center, Falmouth, Monday, January 21, 2019 after a long illness.
He was the widower of Marie A. (Nadeau) Tessier to whom they were married 52 years and the husband of Barbara (Lanzisera) Trainor-Tessier of Cotuit.
He was born in Fall River a son of the late William R., Sr. and Eva M. (Bernard) Tessier and lived in Fall River most of his life moving to Cotuit in 2004.
Mr. Tessier was a truck driver / salesman with Pepsi Cola for 35 years retiring in 1982. He was the former owner of Continental Oil Company.
He served in the United States Navy during W.WII on the U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt in the Mediterranean.
Mr. Tessier was a 4th Degree Knight with the K of C 12380 and was a member of the Cotuit Center for the Arts. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

Survivors include his wife, 2 sons: William N. Tessier and his wife Cecile of Somerset and Roger H. Tessier and his wife Susan of Fall River, 3 step - daughters: Celeste Cabral and her husband William of Freetown, Jayne Pierce and her husband David of Cotuit, Erin Trainor of Centerville, 3 brothers: Normand Tessier of Swansea, Henry Tessier of Westfield, Leo Tessier of Westport, a sister Ora Caya of Westport, 8 grandchildren: Kevin Tessier, Renee Avila, Roger H. Tessier, Jr., Philip Tessier, Nathan Tessier, Bradley Tessier, Mackenzie Pierce, and Griffin Pierce, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Roland Tessier, Ernest Tessier, Lorretta Costa, and Yvette Duck.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday at 8:30 A.M. at the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River followed by a 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard’s Church, Main Street, Assonet. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers donation may be sent in his memory to the Cotuit Center for the Arts, 4404 Falmouth Road, Cotuit, MA 02635
