Dennis A. Barsamian
…retired from Amtrack-B&M; 71
METHUEN - Dennis Arthur Barsamian, age 71, a retired railroad employee, died unexpectedly at his Methuen residence on Saturday, January 19, from an apparent heart attack.
He was born in Lowell, one of four children of the late Charles and Claire (Pageau) Barsamian, and raised in Tewksbury. He graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School, and entered into the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Upon discharge, he moved to Methuen, where he had lived for the past forty-six years. He began work as a welder at the Boston and Main Railroad. He retired from the railroad when it was part of the Amtrack system.
Dennis maintained many friends at the Methuen V.F.W., and was an accomplished “AAA” dartsman for Norm’s White Horse Tavern’s dart league. He also enjoyed outings at the former Rockingham Park horseracing venue in Salem, NH.
He leaves two sons, Douglas Barsamian of Winter Haven, FL, and Craig Barsamian of Manchester, NH; a sister, Nancy Saulnier and her husband William of Tewksbury; his former wife, Susan (Lambert) Eastman of FL; several nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by his sister, Jean DiGeorgio and brother, Gary Barsamian.
Memorials visiting hours Thursday, Jan. 24, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.
