Obituary

Born August 24, 1936. ~ Passed away peacefully on January 17, 2019. Preceded in death by his parents; 9 siblings; in-laws; & several nieces & nephews. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Barbara; sons Michael, Patrick (Lynn), Daniel (Susie); daughter Debra (Scott); grandchildren Emily, Anita, Billy, & Levi; & many nieces & nephews. He also leaves behind his faithful canine companion Mickey. Gil was a lover of nature, a hard worker & man of simple pleasures. He was someone with a deep faith in Christ & a strong love of family & friends. He laughed easily & often, & in his later years cried just as much. He was an avid city council member for over 50 years & enjoyed photography, being a church usher & sitting outside watching critters in his yard. His love of gardening was surpassed by his love of music – he always had a beautiful melody playing in his truck. He leaves a hole in the hearts of those who loved him & will be missed by all who knew him. Memorial Service Friday (1/25) 11:00 AM at REDEEMING LOVE CHURCH, 2425 White Bear Ave. N., Maplewood, with visitation 1 hour prior to Service at church.
