Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Grace Lathem Poole, 92, of Ashburn will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 21, 2019 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Turner County with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Poole entered into heaven peacefully Friday following an extended illness.
The daughter of the late, Jessie James and Susie Jane White Lathem, Sr., she was born in Turner County. Mrs. Lathem was the widow of the late George Cleveland Poole, Jr. and had lived in Ashburn for a long number of years before moving to the Dublin, GA area to be closer to her family. She was a faithful member of the Rocky Mount Baptist Church where she loved fixing flower arrangements for the church, loved ones and friends. She was an avid gardener and fisherman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Blue, her sister, Juanita Lathem and her brother Jimmy Lathem.
Survivors include her sisters in law, Peggy Greer of Dublin, Melanie Lathem of Cordele and Marion Davis of Jacksonville and a brother in law, Talmadge Poole of Scott. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her special friends, Lt. Co. Michael and Carol Bridges and their children, Adam and Tiffani.
The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at Rocky Mount Baptist Church.
