Helen A. (Keohane) Taylor, age 61, of Mansfield passed away peacefully, in the presence of her loving family on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of Joseph F. Taylor, to whom she was wed for thirty years.

Born in Weymouth, MA on May 25, 1957, she was a loving daughter of the late James E. and Elinor A. (Buckingham) Keohane.

Helen grew up in Braintree, was a 1975 graduate of Braintree High School and attended Newbury College. She had been employed for the thirty-two years at the Patriot Ledger in Quincy, where she started working while in high school and made her way up to the position of Classified Manager.

A former member of the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps, she was inducted into their Hall of Fame and spent ten years as a color guard instructor for the Crusaders as well as at Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro and at many other competitive color guards. In 2009, Helen’s career took a serious change when she started pursing a career in health and fitness as a head trainer at the Foxboro YMCA.

A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Helen loved spending time amongst family and friends; especially at the Cape. She was a fierce arcade basketball player, indulged in Skee-Ball and enjoyed socializing with friends over a good cup of coffee at Honey Dew Donuts in Mansfield.

Helen was an amazing woman who was loved by all and will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted sons: Christopher D. Taylor and Matthew P. Taylor both of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of Grace Oliverio of Braintree, Eileen Keohane of Braintree, Edward Keohane of Weymouth and the late John Keohane. She is also survived by her loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 22nd at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 21st from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
