Mary Ellen Tucker Parrish, 97, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Pinetta Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia, with Minister Teressa McDuffie officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 1 PM until the service hour at Pinetta Baptist Church.
Mrs. Parrish was born September 17, 1921, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Robert Walter & Maranda Katherine Carver Tucker. She grew up in the Pinetta community and lived in Mystic most of her life. Mrs. Parrish was a homemaker and a wonderful cook and will be remembered for her biscuits and always having room at her table. Mrs. Parrish was a longtime member of Pinetta Baptist Church and joined Englewood Baptist Church later in life.
She is survived by a son, Roger Parrish of Fitzgerald; two daughters: Jackie & Roy Kitchens of Doerun and Janice & Daniel Musselwhite of Mystic; five grandchildren: Greg & Rebecca Parrish, Wade & Tina Kitchens, Brett & Penny Kitchens, Becky Musselwhite and Miranda Musselwhite; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Parrish; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Parrish; one brother, Marvin and four sisters: Mamie, Edna, Dorothy and Geneva.
