Worcester- Bertha L. (Richard) Lamica, 79, of Worcester, died peacefully Friday, Dec. 23, in St. Francis Home.
Her husband of 47 years, Anthony J. Lamica, died April 15, 1999.
She leaves a son, David A. Lamica and a daughter, Theresa A. Blanchard, both of Worcester, a brother Emile Richard of Ocala, Florida. She also leaves two grandchildren, David Keith Lamica and Emily Anne Lamica, and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Southbridge, daughter of David and Florina (Garceau) Richard. She lived in Southbridge twenty-five years before moving to Worcester. She graduated from Sacred Heart Parish School and attended Notre Dame High School in Southbridge. She worked for many years in the office at the American Optical Company. Mrs. Lamica also enjoyed gardening with her late husband. She was a member of Saint Joseph Parish in Worcester having worked many years at the Bingo Hall where she also enjoyed playing.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday December 27 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton St., Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday December 26 from 6 to 8 pm. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to St. Francis Home, 101 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01604.
