Obituary

BUXTON- Ray Leon Littlefield III, age 76 of Port Charlotte, Florida and Buxton, Maine. passed away peacefully after a long struggle with cancer on January 16, 2019. His loving partner and caregiver Pat and her daughter Kim were at his bedside.

Ray was born June 8, 1942 to Marjorie Richardson and Ray L Littlefield Jr. and was raised in Scarborough. He was a graduate of Scarborough H.S. class of 1961 and SMVTI. During summer he drove The G tractor for Webber’s Farm. He later drove truck for Leroy Prout. 
In 1964 he enlisted in the army where he drove heavy equipment at Fort Ord, California and Heidelberg Germany. After his discharge from the military Ray drove truck for Ralph Cusack. He later worked as a Hot Top foreman for LR Higgins until his employment at Northeast Petroleum in Sandwich Ma. as Terminal Manager. Eleven years later he purchased two convenience stores in Limington Me. which he ran until his retirement in 2002.
Ray was predeceased by his parents and a baby son born to him and his 1st wife Jolan Hill. He is survived by his sister Donna Littlefield Brady of Scarborough, his son Ray L Littlefield the 4th of Portland, wife Mindy, their children Riley and Jaclyn,  his daughter Melissa Dolloff,  her husband Brian, sons Brian and Eric Kimball and daughter Samantha Graffam all of Standish. Ray is also survived by his longtime partner and caregiver Patricia Cote whom he dearly loved and her children Terry Joy and fiancé Terry Littlefield, Kim and husband John Jordan, Cindy and husband Troy Babb, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ray loved his cars and had many over his lifetime. His first car was a ‘49 Ford, many corvettes and a ‘97 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, which made many trips to and from Florida. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed his time bird hunting in North Woods of Maine with family and friends.

During his retirement years he went on many cruises and enjoyed many trips to the Caribbean islands.  He especially loved the island of Eleuthera.
A memorial service to celebrate Ray's life will be held on Saturday June 8, 2019 at 10 AM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton with a light lunch to follow. Burial will then follow for anyone who wishes to attend at Black Point Cemetery in Scarborough with military honors.
