RICHARD F. "DICK" SHEEHAN
Richard F. "Dick" Sheehan, age 79, of Dorchester, a retired Court Officer at Middlesex Superior Court in Cambridge, died Thursday Dec. 22, 2005 after a long illness. He was the husband of Irmgard "Irma" (Mayer) Sheehan and the devoted father of the late Karl F. Sheehan. Born and raised in Dorchester, he attended Boston Schools and graduated from Dorchester High School for Boys in 1948. He also attended Northeastern University. Mr. Sheehan retired in 1992 after over 30 years of service. Mr. Sheehan was active in local sports and politics. He was a Past Grand Knight of Redberry Council # 117 Knights of Columbus, Past Faithful Navigator of the Bishop Cheverus Assembly, 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus and a member of the Boston Chapter, K of C. He was also a member of the McKeon Post # Amvets, the Neponset V.F.W. Post # , the K Club, The Mass. Retired State Employees Assoc. and served as an usher at St. Ann's Church in Neponset for many years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 brothers: Robert L. Sheehan of Quincy and Carroll P. Sheehan of Stoneham he was also the brother of the late State Representative Thomas A. Sheehan, Francis X. Sheehan, Jr., Philomena McCue and Marion Sheehan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Sheehan is a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States and Germany. Funeral from the O'Donnell & Mulry Funeral Home, 138 Neponset Ave., Dorchester, Tuesday morning at 9:15. Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church, Neponset at 10 o'clock. Intermenty will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, MA. Visiting Hours Monday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM.
