Winston E. Withrow, a long-time Medford resident, died Wednesday at the Sawtelle Hospice House, Reading. He was 91.
Mr. Withrow was born in Cambridge, the son of the late Isaac and the late Mary (Cripps) Withrow. Winston was raised in Nova Scotia and returned to the US for high school, graduating from Arlington High. During the war he worked at the shipyards and then worked as a carpenter for many years, afterwards. In his later years Winston was a security officer at Harvard University’s Widener Library.
He was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude (Boudreau). He was the father of Patricia Parsons of Wakefield, Richard Withrow of Tewksbury, Carol Hakala, Alaska, and Judith Smalley of Maine. He also leaves 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may visit Monday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A funeral service will be celebrated in the chapel of the Dello Russo Funeral Home Tuesday morning at 9 with the Reverend Paul Flammia, presiding. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
