Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late James and Edith (Greaves) Ferguson.
Dee-Dee worked for the State of Rhode Island where she was a manager for the school lunch program and then was employed by the Rhode Island School of the Deaf before retiring in 2000.
Her greatest love was children – she had a soft touch and warm heart that made all the children feel special. She was very active and spent the northern cold winter months in sunny Florida where she continued to be active in tennis, bocce, pickleball and being the event planner for community gatherings.
Besides her loving husband of 58 years, Ronald E. Forrest, she leaves behind three daughters, Bonnie Fargnoli and her husband, John; Christine Savard and husband Donald; and Cheryl Savard and husband Thomas and a son, Robert Forrest and his wife Donna. She was a devoted grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 6 great children and two more on the way.
She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Baynes of Jamestown, brother James Ferguson of Vero Beach, Florida and was predeceased by a half-brother Thomas Ferguson.
