Lavonne "Bonnie" (Songer) Etsler, 91, of Anderson, died at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette after an extended illness.
Bonnie was born November 18, 1927 in Frankton, IN the daughter of Leslie Von and Rosa (Little) Songer Gooding.
She worked production at Delco Remy division of General Motors for 30 years before retiring.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Marc) Akers of Lafayette; two sisters, Jenny Frazier of Frankton and Rosetta (Jim) Downing of Marion; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death her parents, her husband, W. Philip Etsler, whom she married December 24, 1946 in Alexandria; step-father, Clifford Gooding, daughter, Judith "Judy" Dieterle, son , Richard "Dick" Etsler, grandson, Shane Philip Etsler and brothers, Jack and Joe Songer.
Service will be held at noon on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with burial in East Maplewood Cemetery.
