HOLLIS- Arthur S. Wescott Jr., age 86, of Wakefield Road, passed away at his home on Jan. 11, 2019.
He was born in Buxton on Feb. 22, 1932, a child of the late Arthur Sr. and Mildred Leah (Bradeen) Wescott-Wakefield and attended the Duck Pond School in Buxton.
He proudly served his country in the Korean War in the United States Air Force.
Over the years he worked for Warren’s Furniture, Rogers Fibre, Yudy’s Tire, and the Box Shop in Hol-lis.
He will always be remembered for the enjoyment he had hunting & fishing, tending to his own farm raising meat animals and dairy products, and being with his beloved family.
He was a member of the American Legion in Saco, and the DAV.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife- Evelyn (Whitten) Wescott; children- Cynthia Foster and her hus-band Dennis of Hollis, Kathryn Eastman and her husband Alfred Jr. of Porter, John Wescott of Hollis, and Michael Wescott and his wife Karen of Hollis; sister- Nancy Daney of Hollis; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday Jan. 15, from 3 – 5 PM, followed by a funeral service at 5 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. Burial will be in the spring at Wakefield Cemetery in Hollis with USAF Honors.
