Obituary

WEBSTER/MELBOURNE, FL – Robert B. David, Sr., 91, of Melbourne died Friday, December 28, 2018 in William Childs Hospice Home, Palm Bay with his wife and daughter at his side. His first wife of 43 years, Gloria M. (Johnson) David, died in 1994.

He leaves his wife of 14 years, Guyla M. (Blake) David; a daughter, Cindy L. Socha and her husband Edward of Webster, MA; a son, Robert B. David, Jr. of Vero Beach; a granddaughter, Christine M. David and a great-grandson, Paxton J. Nolan, both of Webster, MA; 2 step-daughters, Candy Aiken and Robin Labrecque, both of Springfield, VT; a daughter-in-law, Sandra David and a sister-in-law, Lee David, both of Dudley, MA; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his son Jeffrey P. David in 1995, and by his brothers Kenneth David and John B. David, Jr.

He was born and raised in Dudley, MA, a son of John B. David, Sr. and Agnes P. (Albetski) David. He graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster, MA and later attended Nichols Junior College in Dudley, MA. He lived in Webster for over 50 years before moving to Florida in 2003.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a private first class in Company A, 19th Infantry in Japan after the war.

Mr. David worked as a loom fixer at both Dudley Woolen Mill and Anglo Fabrics Company in Webster, MA. He was a machinist at Heald Machine Company in Worcester, MA for many years before retiring in 1992.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 20, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, MA. Full military honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council at the conclusion of visiting hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
