Obituary

WEBSTER – Edward A. Rogala, Sr., 87, of 44 Harris St., died Thursday, Dec. 22, in Radius Healthcare Center, Worcester. His wife of 58 years, Isabelle T. (Polubinskas) Rogala, died in 2001.

He leaves two sons, Edward A. Rogala, Jr., and his wife Candice of Windham, Maine, and Stanley Rogala and his wife Yvette of Webster; a sister, Irene Augustyn of Dudley; four grandchildren, Eric and Christopher Rogala, Nicole Quinn and Joy Cumbia; 6 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

He was born in Dudley, son of Michael and Louise (Bryl) Rogala and lived in Webster most of his life.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, and was a tank driver for the Headquarters Company 19th Battalion in the 4th Armored Division. He was awarded both a purple heart and the distinguished unit badge.

Mr. Rogala worked as a finisher at Anglo Fabrics Company, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica, the Webster-Dudley American Legion Post #184, the Disabled American Veterans, and the 4th Armored Division Association.

The funeral, with military honors, will be held Wednesday, Dec. 28, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours are from 8:15 to 9:15 Wednesday morning at the funeral home. The family suggests donations be made to St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570
