DARTMOUTH — Sandra (Harrop) Klaren, 83, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Thornton P. Klaren, Jr. They were married for over 57 years.
Born in Greenfield, Ma., she was the daughter the late W. Henry Harrop and Ellen (Jackson) Harrop. Sandra lived in South Dartmouth all of her life. She graduated from Dartmouth High School and the University of Vermont. She was formerly employed by Dr. William Jenney and Park Oil Co., raised two children and volunteered to help elder ladies. Sandra also loved Summers on their boat JEST on Martha’s Vineyard and Winters at their Timeshare in the Cayman Islands.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a son Jonathan P. Klaren and wife Kim, a granddaughter Kelly and a daughter Ellen. She was a member of the Women’s Luncheon Club, The New Bedford Mother’s Club, The New Bedford Yacht Club and The Wamsutta Club.
The family wishes to thank the Staff of Brookdale Assisted Living, Community Nurses of Fairhaven and the Nurses Staff of St. Luke’s Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 5th, 2019 from 2 pm - 4 pm at the New Bedford Yacht Club, 208 Elm Street, South Dartmouth, Ma.
