Obituary

Worcester – Charles M. Fisher, 91, of Cherry Valley passed away on Saturday, January 5th in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University campus after a brief illness.
Mr. Fisher was married for 58 years to his wife, June N. (Vigneault) Fisher. He is also survived by a son, Steven R. Fisher of Cherry Valley; a sister in law, Claire Fisher of Sterling and many cousins and nephews. Charles was born in Worcester, son of the late Charles and Marion (Rugg) Fisher and is also predeceased by a brother Raymond Fisher of Sterling. Charles graduated from Worcester Boy’s Trade High School where he studied printing.
Charles is a Korean War Veteran and served in the United States Army. When Mr. Fisher returned to Worcester after serving in the military, he went to work at Washington Press until it closed and then worked for Heffernan Press until his retirement.
Charles enjoyed fishing and was an avid Boston sports fan and he especially enjoyed watching the Red Sox. Mr. Fisher enjoyed vacationing with his wife, more specifically taking trips to Delaware to visit family.
Funeral services are being held privately and the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association 33 Lyman Street #205 Westborough, MA 01581. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements.
