HERDT, Michelle “Shelly” (McNeil) of Winthrop formerly of Charlestown, passed away on January 4, 2019. She was 57 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Randall C. “Randy” Herdt. Devoted mother of Jarrett M. Herdt and his wife Nicole, Alanna R. Herdt, and Lauren M. Herdt all of Winthrop. Adored grandmother of Makayla and Ethan Herdt. Cherished daughter of the late James A. “Crash” and Joanne M. (Jones) McNeil. Dear sister of Shelagh Hayes and her husband Kevin of Dorchester, Joanne Vesey and her husband Tommy of Charlestown and the late Brendan McNeil. Loving niece of Sharon Fitzgerald and also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP, on Thursday, January 10, at 9am. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop, at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery-Everett. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Weds. from 4-8pm. Michelle was a member of the Winthrop Yacht Club and was a volunteer for Massachusetts Fallen Heroes. She was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and was a registered nurse and worked as a caregiver for the Gizmunt family.
