Obituary


Louise S. Meads, 90, of Provincetown passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday December 30th 2018. She was the wife of the late Provincetown Fire Chief James F. Meads, who predeceased her in 2006,

Born July 23rd 1928 in Provincetown, she was daughter of the late Frank H. and Inez [Ellis] Smith. Louise graduated from Provincetown High School and spent her whole life in Provincetown. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and in the past had served as its’ President.

Louise leaves two daughters, Cynthia Doherty of Provincetown, Amanda Morris of Truro, and a son, James F. Meads, Jr. of Provincetown. She was predeceased by daughter Audrey Lee Meads in 1959.

She was also the grandmother to grandchildren, Joel Carreiro and Che Carreiro, both of Provincetown, Audra Mayfield of Brewster, Amy Houghton of New Bedford, Jenna Seaton and Jacob Morris, both of Truro. She was predeceased by granddaughter Amanda Doherty.

Eight great grandchildren, Ariel Carreiro Dylan Carreiro-Hensel, Brooke Carreiro, Nathaniel Czyoskl, Jocelyn Pelletier, Ella Mayfield, Ethan Mayfield, Ayla Caminiti, and
great-great grandchildren, Arianna Allmon and Sylas Suonpera also survive her.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Gately Funeral Home, 94 Harry Kemp Way, Provincetown on Tuesday, January 8th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 9th at the Provincetown United Methodist Church, Shankpainter Rd., Provincetown. Burial will follow at St Peters Cemetery.
