Obituary

SPENCER: Elizabeth J. (Slocum) Latour, 82, of Willow Lane, died peacefully at home on New Year's Day.
She leaves her daughters Elaine P. Blood and her husband Doug of Spencer, and Nancy A. Mandella with whom she lived, a sister Barbara Crossley of Spencer, three grandchildren; Lisa Daoust and her husband David of Spencer, Christopher Blood and his wife Jennifer of No.Brookfield and Michael Mercier and his wife Amanda of Oakham, three great grandchildren; Wyatt, Adison, Brayden and a great grandchild expected later this month, several nieces and nephews.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Frank and Wanda (Sidleuwicz) Slocum and later graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester.
Elizabeth was a supervisor in the Radiology Dept. of the old St. Vincent's Hospital on the hill before retiring in 1997. After retirement, she worked in the garden dept. at Klem's. She was an avid reader, huge Patriot's Fan, loved living on the lake and especially the 4th. of July parties.
She was a member of the Thompson Pond Association.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 4 at 11 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. A calling hour will precede the service on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends of the Richard Sugden Library, 8 Pleasant St., Spencer, MA 01562.
