Obituary

ASHLAND: Dorothy C. (Lupien) Deschamps, 91, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 29, 2018 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Natick on December 9, 1927 the daughter of the late Alphonse Lupien and Ellen (McSweeney) Lupien.
She was the devoted mother of Edward A. Deschamps of Ashland and Holly Kersey and her husband Thomas Kersey of Shrewsbury. Dorothy is also survived by her much beloved granddaughter Kaylyn Kersey. She was the sister of Thomas Lupien of Cochituate and sister-in-law of Dorothy Lupien of Natick. She was the sister of the later Robert, John, Dennis and James Lupien and Patricia Leary. She also leaves many nieces and nephews in Massachusetts and Maine.
Dorothy spent her formative years in Cochituate and was a graduate of Wayland High School with the class of 1945. She had been a resident of Ashland for over 60 years.
She had a long and distinguished career as a bookkeeper with Holmes Transportation before retiring. Upon retirement, she was an active member in the senior community in Ashland and volunteered for over 25 years at the Ashland Senior Center and the Ashland Council on Aging.
Throughout her life, her family was the most important gift that she treasured and the time that she spent with them was always cherished.
At her request there will be no funeral home visitations.
Her family invites those who can to join them for a graveside service on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Deschamps family lot in Lakeview Cemetery, Commonwealth Road (Rte. 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
In lieu of flowers, her family kindly suggests that gifts in Dorothy’s memory may be sent to the Ashland Senior Center, ATTN: Gift Account, 162 West Union Street, Ashland, MA 01721.
