Obituary

Stuart Sterling Mani, 74, of North St. Paul, MN went home to heaven surrounded by his family December 29th, 2018. Preceded in death by parents Freeman and Marjorie Mani, and brother Jacques. Survived by and was beloved husband to Lora for 47 years, the best dad to daughter Andrea (Ben) Triplett, sons Brandon Mani, Anthony Mani, and amazing grandpa to Natalie and Matthew. He will also be missed by many family members, neighbors, and friends. Born August 23, 1944, in Alameda, CA. Stuart graduated from Richfield High school in 1962, and attended the University of Minnesota. He served in the US Army in Vietnam (1967-1968). Awarded ribbons for National Defense Service, Vietnam Campaign, and the Tet Offensive. He was honorably discharged from service in 1969, and was a disabled veteran. Married the love of his life Lora (Enger), June 12th, 1971. Raised his family, worked hard, and served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through words and actions from the heart. His 23-year Federal career began in September 1990 at the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Midwest Regional Office in Minneapolis, MN, where he was appointed as supervisory Contract Specialist, responsible for the regions commercial purchasing and self-determination contracting activities. In 1999, he temporarily served as acting Chief of Acquisition in Washington DC to specifically resolve major issues associated to Y2K computer acquisitions. He finished his career at the Midwest Regional Office, making many contributions promoting Indian Self Determination contracting. Stuart retired April 2013. Honors recognized and received during his retirement ceremony was a special commendation from the US Department of Justice, US Attorney General Eastern District of Wisconsin, for “outstanding assistance in the prevention of waste, fraud, and abuse of government funds, and for the stellar promotion of justice in the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and a commendation from the Regional Solicitors Office, Twin Cities for assisting their office in “resolving a myriad of complex, self determination legal issues”. He made the most of whatever life brought his way and made lasting memories with many. Funeral Service Friday (1/4) 10:00 AM at RIVER OF GOD CHURCH, 2490 E. 7TH AVE, NORTH ST. PAUL. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation Thursday (1/3) 5-8 PM & Friday (1/4) 9:30 - 10 AM at RIVER OF GOD CHURCH.
