Obituary

Harold Allan Rose, Jr., 78, of Berkley Massachusetts died on December 24, 2018 from heart failure. Born August 2, 1940, Harold (Hal or “Sonny") was the third of four children to the late Harold and Dora (Gonzalez) Rose, of Dighton. He graduated from Dighton High School in 1958. Harold went on to serve with the U.S. Army in Germany, an experience he spoke of fondly. As a Soldier in the 5th Transportation Company within the U.S. Seventh Army headquarters, Harold was recognized as an expert mechanic and driver. After returning home, Harold began a 37-year career with United Parcel Service (UPS). After accumulating 25 years of safe driving, he was inducted into the elite UPS Circle of Honor. Harold retired from UPS in 2003, spending his time studying the Bible and strengthening his relationship with God. Harold is survived by his wife of 46 years Elizabeth (Hutchinson) Rose, son Jason and his wife Elizabeth, son Darryl, sister Janet (Rose) Dewey and her husband Garry, brother Brian Rose, and two grandchildren. Harold was predeceased by his sister Marjorie (Rose) Caras who is survived by her husband George. An interment service will be held on Friday, May 17th 2 PM at the Bourne National Cemetery.
