Dorothy M. (Wood) Lord, 93, passed away December 19, 2018 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center in Wilmington, N.C., her husband Bob Lord died in 1992.
She leaves a daughter, Patricia A. Frissell and her husband James of Holly Ridge, N.C., a son, Robert Lord and his wife Laura of Hartland, Vt., 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a sister, Carol Bear of Chatham, N. J., and a brother, Carleton N, ‘Bud’ Wood of TN., and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was born in Natick, MA., a daughter of the late Carleton and Marion (Petty) Wood and was also predeceased by 3 sisters.
She was active at the Senior Center in Woodstock, VT., and enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Dorothy referred to herself as a farmer’s wife. Her husband operated and ran Billing’s Farm for Laurence Rockefeller for many years.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 10 AM in the Dudley First Congregational Church, 135 Center Rd., Dudley Hill, burial will follow in Corbin Cemetery in Dudley.
The ROBERT J. MILLER FUNERAL HOME and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St., Webster is assisting Dorothy’s family with arrangements.
