In Taunton, December 23, 2018, Ellen E. (Reed) Peterson, Age 82, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Ellen was the loving wife of her late husband of 63 years Gerald C. “Pete” Peterson Sr. She was born in Dighton, the daughter of the late Arthur & Ellen (Eagan) Reed. Ellen was a resident of Taunton and was educated in Dighton schools. She was employed as a cook for the City of Taunton at Elizabeth E. Pole School. She enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods, traveling with her husband, and was a caregiver to many and a confidant to her friends. Ellen loved helping all those who were in need and her home was open to anyone. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who cherished her time with family. Ellen leaves her children, Gerald Peterson Jr. and his wife Patricia of Taunton, Patrice Peterson of Taunton and Mary Peterson Goff and her fiancée Peter Hatten of North Dighton. Ellen was the last surviving of seven siblings. She also leaves her grandchildren, Gerald “Jerry” Peterson III and his wife Tatum, Jeffrey Peterson, Curtiss Goff and his girlfriend Shelby Peavey, Evan Goff and great grandchildren Colbie and Mallorie Peterson. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Mary’s Church in Taunton at 10am. Visiting hours are kindly omitted. Arrangements are under the care of the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton.
