Lorraine V. (Bougie) Houle, age 91, was called safely home on Dec. 23, 2018. She was born on May 16, 1927 in Chicopee and has been a life long resident. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Emeria (L'Ecuyer) Bougie. Lorraine was a communicant of St Anthony of Padua Church. She was the founder and director of Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen in Chicopee until 2012 when she retired. She was a member of the Moose Family Lodge #1849 in Chicopee. She is predeceased by her husband Roger Houle who passed away in 1975. She is survived by her son Robert Houle and his wife Kim of Agawam; 3 daughters, Diane Scaife and her husband Robert of Springfield, Denise Scibelli of Agawam and Debra Cardin and her husband Dennis of Chicopee; her daughter-in-law Lynn Houle of Chicopee; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son Kenneth Houle who passed away in 2009 and also by her 2 brothers Robert and Richard Bougie and her sister Claire Bougie. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A funeral service will be held on Friday Dec. 28, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Rose de Lima Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen, 170 Pendexter Ave, Chicopee, MA 01013.
