LIMERICK- Nancy Ellen (Messinger) Doucette 63, of Limerick Maine, passed away on December 20, 2018 after a long battle with Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP). She was born in North Hampton, MA on August 30, 1955, to the late Janet-Lee (Best) Lane and the late George Edwin Messinger.
Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence (Larry) Doucette. She is survived by her two daughters, Anastasia (Stacey) Ferguson and her husband John, of Limerick, Maine, Jennifer (MacKenzie) Houston and her husband Craig of Deerfield, New Hampshire, and her step-son Derek Doucette and his wife Stephina of Portland, Maine. She was the loving “Mimi” to her grandsons, Trey, Joseph, and Noah, and granddaughter Lil.
She also leaves behind her siblings Kenneth Messinger of Wilmington Ma, Julie Messinger of Wakefield, MA. Linda Beaulieu of York, ME, Steven Gynan of Palm Coast, Fla., Thomas Gynan of Holly Hill, Fla., and John Gynan of Salisbury, MA. Nancy was predeceased by her loving step-parents, Judith Messinger and Franklin Lane.
Nancy lived in Wakefield Ma for many years before moving to Maine. She and Larry opened their home to family and friends. Nancy loved to cook and always managed to whip something up for anyone who stopped by, often creating a dish out of what was on-hand and somehow making it seem as if she spent hours preparing it. Nancy was quick-witted and kind-natured. She had an answer for everything even if it was made up; which it usually was. She was strong-willed and stubborn which made it difficult to argue with her. She loved with her whole heart and will be terribly missed.
