Robert L Foye
1930-2018

STANDISH- Robert L. Foye, 88, passed away peacefully at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough on Thursday, December 20, 2018.  He was born on February 19, 1930 to William B. and Bernice H. Foye in Bar Mills. He attended Buxton schools and graduated from S.D.Hanson High School.  

Robert joined the US Navy in 1948, during the Korean War.  He was a Plank-Owner and Electrician on the USS Newport News for 4 years.

Upon leaving the military, he attended Electrician’s School in Great Lakes, Illinois.  He continued his education and graduated from SMVTI in South Portland. He worked at Stultz Electric, Atkinson Electric and retired from Eagle Industries at the age of 70.

Bob joined the Buxton Masonic Lodge in 1952, where he served as Master in 1961 and also Treasurer for many years.  He was recognized for his 65 years of membership in 2017. He was Past Patron of OES Pleasant River Chapter and member of the Scottish Rite and Kora Temple Shrine.

Bob was treasurer for the West Buxton Fire Dept, as well as the Buxton Hollis Rod and Gun Club.

Bob and Polly Davis were married on Christmas Eve in 1953 and started their married life in Hollis, later moving to Standish.

He is predeceased by his parents and son, Larry P. Foye, brother G.Richard Foye and nephew G.Steven Foye.

He is survived by his beloved wife- Polly Foye; daughter- Kathy Goodwin and her husband Mark of Hollis; granddaughter- Lori Frederick and her husband Jay of Standish; grandson- Kevin Goodwin and his wife Catherine of Phillips; brother- Westley Foye and his wife Norma of Arcadia, FL; sister-in-law-Irene Foye of Buxton; great grandchildren include Emelia Frederick, Timothy Taylor, Jessica Taylor, and Cameron Taylor; nephew- Michael Foye of Buxton; and a niece- Kathleen Brackett and her husband Scott of Lyman

Visitation will be held on Sunday Dec. 30, from 1 – 2 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. Following the visitation at 2 PM, Masonic Honors will be performed, followed by service officiated by Pastor Ron Sargent at the funeral home.
