Obituary

Eva Alice Wagner, a longtime resident of Medford, passed away peacefully surrounded by her two sisters and many nieces on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Aberjona Nursing Center where she had most recently resided for the past 3 1/2 years. She was 104 years old and was born in Victory, Nova Scotia. Eva was the beloved daughter of the late James E. and Margaret (Kaulback) Wagner.

Eva was a nurse and had served as a Lieutenant in the Army during WWII where she was stationed in Lincoln, England. She also was employed as a secretary for Brewer Lloyd Insurance Agency, for many years.

She just recently attended a Town Hall  event for Veterans Day in November at Faneuil Hall In Boston where she signed a WWII rifle that will be displayed later at the WWII Museum in New Orleans.  She was the last one to sign the rifle and only woman whose signature is on it.

She loved gardening, playing cards, walking, and she shared the love of making Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls with her sister Gladys for many family members. Eva loved to spend time with her family and reminisce about family events and trips that they had taken together.

She is survived by her two sisters Clara (Peggy) Weston of Winchester and Dorothy Hodsdon of Medford.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Wagner of California. Sister of the late Gladys Mander, Beulah McCarthy, Alda Fraser, Margaret Green, Roy Wagner, James (Eddie) Wagner, Richard Wagner, and Robert Wagner
She also is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aberjona Nursing Center for the loving care and compassion that they gave to Eva while she was a resident there.
